ColMax Pickups is a small independent company that supplies pickups directly to guitar players and all sizes to guitar companies. We have been doing this for over 30 years – and we are still learning and trying to reach perfection. We are old-school craftsmanship to manufacture premium pickups for electric guitar and bass. We are not a assembly line. Each pickup is built from scratch. We use vintage-correct materials in the manufacture of the majority of our parts. It’s our build standard. We scatter-wind the coils of each pickup one at a time. Scatter-winding can only truly be done by hand and represents a high degree of skill by the person winding the coil. With the winding and manual construction of our pickups, we have extremely high quality control. Microphone, DCR, correct phase and tone testing is performed on a specially made test guitar before pickups reach the final phase and delivery to the customer…
